Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann Announces 4% DA Hike for Government Employees

Chandigarh, Dec 18: Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann declared a four percent increase in dearness allowance (DA) for government employees and pensioners, effective from December 1, raising it to 38 percent.

This decision, announced during a meeting with employees, is expected to benefit numerous employees and pensioners. Chief Minister Mann emphasized the government’s commitment to safeguarding the interests of employees, considering them a crucial part of the state administration. He assured that every effort would be made to ensure their welfare.

Addressing another issue, Mann stated that the government would raise the matter of restoring the Old Pension Scheme with the Union government. He expressed plans to arrange a meeting with the Union Finance Secretary to further advocate for the case.

Mann instructed officials to develop a timeline for promoting steno typists based on seniority in various departments. He also urged officers to expedite the process of filling vacant ministerial service positions in all departments through promotions within two months.

Furthermore, the Chief Minister established a committee to address various pending demands of the employees.
